A story from the memory palace for Hiroshima and Nagasaki anniversaries 8/6, 8/9

From: Nate DiMeo
Length: 00:02:52

The incredible story of an actual U.S. military project that could have served as an alternative to dropping the atomic bombs to end WWII. Amazingly, the government spent years investigating the possibility of arming bats with incendiary devices and dropping them over Japanese cities. Read the full description.

Intro and Outro

INTRO:

Today/Tomorrow/Sunday marks the 64 anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima/Nagasaki. That day in 1945 marked the culmination of years of secret effort by the United States to develop the bomb. We, of course, know that program as The Manhattan Project. What is less known is another U.S. plan to destroy Japanese cities that also ran for years and was nearly deployed instead of the A-Bomb. From his history series, the memory palace, Nate DiMeo ((dih-May-oh)) has this story.
