Today/Tomorrow/Sunday marks the 64 anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima/Nagasaki. That day in 1945 marked the culmination of years of secret effort by the United States to develop the bomb. We, of course, know that program as The Manhattan Project. What is less known is another U.S. plan to destroy Japanese cities that also ran for years and was nearly deployed instead of the A-Bomb.
