This hour (newscast compatible) has artist David Greenberger (Duplex Planet) in conversation with host Jay Allison discussing the ways of conversing and recording our elders. Works include excerpts from Greenberger's work as well as Transom pieces Jimmy and Jewel produced by Jason Rayles and from WNYC Radio Rookie Katie Bulnes: Esther and Abuelita.
The Transom Radio Hour grows out of the web site Transom.org which is devoted to the art and practise of public radio. It's the first and only stand-alone website ever to win the Peabody Award. It's an open master class for story-telling in sound. Like the site, the radio series has a practical and instructional tone, encouraging people to do it themselves.

Review of The Transom Radio Hour - Conversing with Our Elders
David Greenberger never stops being brilliant and innovative. He work is thoughtful, inspirational and complex. I hope that "Growing Old in East LA" gets listened to throughout our country and opens peoples eyes to the value of this work.
