Larry Josephson has been a public radio host, producer, engineer and manager for over 40 years. He spent 18 years at WBAI, New York and KPFA, Berkeley as grumpy morning host, assistant manager, and station manager.
Thirty years ago he started the Radio Foundation, a non-profit, public radio production company. Since 1982, The Foundation has been the home of the beloved American humorists, Bob & Ray, who have been on radio, television, and in films, books and commercials for sixty years. We sell 23 CDs containing 90 hours of Bob & Ray. Larry produced four Bob & Ray public radio series, and two sold-out concerts in Carnegie Hall. He won a Peabody Award and three Grammy Nominations for his work with Bob & Ray. www.bobandray.com
We are currently in production on a multi-part series, "ONLY IN AMERICA:
A Celebration of 350 Years of the American Jewish Experience," scheduled for release in October, 2006. www.onlyinamerica.info. Also, "What Is Judaism", nine conversations with Rabbi Ismar Schorsch, Chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary about the history and liturgy of the Jewish holidays. Specials about Passover, Hanukkah and the High Holy Days have been heard on public radio stations nationwide since 1999. www.whatisajew.org
