Radio Netherlands Worldwide is one of the world's leading public service broadcasters with a long history of providing listeners with high quality news and in-depth cultural programming. The first transmissions were in 1947 and, in the present day, Radio Netherlands Worldwide team of more than 180 producers, editors, and reporters offer content in seven languages -- Dutch, English, Spanish, French, Indonesian, Papiamento (Dutch Antilles) and Sarnami (Surinam) -- which are distributed on shortwave, the Internet and via a network of 6000 partner stations and organizations around the globe. Radio Netherlands Worldwide reaches some 50 million listeners a week. A growing number of public radio stations in the United States turn to Radio Netherlands Worldwide for their specialized documentary productions, music programming, and for EuroQuest, Public Radio's Weekly European Journal, which brings listeners a fresh perspective on views and culture from the other side of the Atlantic.
